YONANAS

Sunday, June 16, 2013

Over at my friends today, she made Frozen bananas and either strawberries or cherries.
I chose cherries with my banana all were frozen, she said let them sit out for about 15 minutes and then load the banana and the second fruit of choice. She had mango, cantaloupe, rainier cherries and strawberries and blueberries.
All I can say is I am still in awe of how tasty it was. I felt I was eating something decedent because it was sooooooooo good! And all it was, was the two fruits. I could not and still cannot believe it was GOOD for me!! Ben and Jerry's eat your heart out, she also gave people choices of toppings, either choc chips or toffee chips, I would have selected walnuts or something like that. But I was good with what I had.
The picture is of the gadget she used to make it with. OHHHH YUMMMMMM!!!!!

I'm not questioning the gadget. But with the summer fruit season in full swing, my stomach is about to explode. I have a lot to deal with right now especially with my favorite watermelons. I have 2 large melons in the fridge plus I'm getting into young coconuts from Thailand. I have 18 of those to tackle (one per day) Then I've got 30 servings of potato in the freezer among other stuff that I cooked. I will revisit this issue again once the melon season is over. For now, fresh fruits are overwhelming me.

I love my Yonanas. SP has a recipe for the same thing using a high powered blender, but I'm glad I bought the Yonanas. You have to scrape quite a bit of the banana out of the parts (easy to do), but it does taste just like soft serve ice cream - just much healthier!

Well, that sounds interesting, but I don't quite get what this gadget does. Does it freeze them or mix the fruits or just what? It sounds yummy, but I just don't feel like buying or trying to store another gadget so wondering how else to get the same effect without the gadget.

I've watched the infomercial for this on The Shopping Channel (Canada). It sounds like a very healthy, tasty alternative to ice cream or unhealthier desserts / snacks.

I have a lot of frozen bananas in the 8 oz Pyrex and also pineapple. Last count was around 30 for bananas. I buy a lot when I freeze them to save time to the store. I just found a new use for it with the rice cake besides the protein smoothies. This might be another outlet for my frozen fruits. emoticon
