I hit a plateau about 1.5 months ago. I asked my GP to refer me to a dietician. Then I went on line and found Spark People and decided to try it.

I work in a sleep lab. It's probably one of the least active jobs on the planet. For 12 hours at a time I watch people sleep. I spend 30 minutes each way traveling to and from work. An hour to relax before going to bed. I get between 6 and 8 hours sleep, get up shower, eat, do a few chores and go back to work. After 7 days of this routine I have 7 days off. I transition to a traditional daytime schedule, which is tough. Trying to be consistent in diet and exercise is a challenge. Also challenging is getting enough sleep when I working, or catching up when I'm off.

Working at night also messes up the body.
