I am very much a numbers person, which is why the Spark program is so enjoyable to me. I can see the calories consumed versus burned. I have to be careful not to estimate calories, but measure.
In the last week I have learned there are many chain restaurants like Red Robin and Jimmy John's that have interactive menus that allow me to see my exact calories after I modify my meals. I actually key in my meals into Spark before I go to the restaurant which helps me to stick to those healthy choices.
Finally, I also learned the very easy trick to shop the parameter of my grocery store where all the healthiest choices are and to shop the center isles with a purpose to avoid the processed temptations.
