Went to the retirement party and discovered that the actual retirement happened unexpectedly and about a month ago. My SIL fell at school and got a severe concussion and a number of other injuries on the 24th of May. She has not been able to work or even leave the house except for doctor's appointments and PT sessions. She is still perpetually dizzy and the slightest noise hurts. She was unable to clear her room, say good bye to her students or co-workers or anything. A group of her co-workers were at the party and she was really surprised. I enjoyed meeting them and we all enjoyed the sunshine, shade, and the lovely mild day - it was about 75 degrees at the hottest and there was a nice breeze.
The food was great and a lot of it was stuff I don't eat so it wasn't too hard to make good choices. I did have ribs (they melted in my mouth and without bbq sauce weren't too bad for me), I drank water (AND ONE Mike's Hard Lemonade), and did the Jello-mold with fruit, fresh watermelon balls, and a piece of pineapple cake for dessert. Went over the calories but not WAY over so I am happy about that.
I am off to bed as I am a bit tired.
Everyone sleep well - may the angels that kiss your eyelids remind you that you are safe in their care tonight. May the warm and cool breezes blow through your hair and leave you feeling rested, well loved and secure. Dream sweet dreams and awake rested and ready to make YOUR light shine on those you encounter through your day. Let those see the same beauty and joy that I see when I encounter YOU on here. May blessings and joy fill your lives with love, joy, and peace.
