Doctors appts next week

Saturday, June 15, 2013

I have several doctor's appointments next week concerning my right foot and my upcoming operation on it. I keep walking and staying as active as possible but it hurts most of the time. Riding my horses hurts as much or more than walking so I haven't gotten to ride much. Still I sure do enjoy it when I do ride. emoticon

I've ordered three Pilates DVDs and look forward to doing them in the future. I even have dreams of someday running again. I ran very competitively for decades. Trained hard and raced hard. I don't have any desire to do that again, which is good since I don't think that would be healthy for my body. I've had too many injuries that have been directly related to poor conformation. But I'd love to run 10 minute miles for exercise and for fun. Well see what the future brings. emoticon

Hope everything goes well with the doctor's and your foot get the right treatment. I never ran until I was 55 and I have periods where I don't run and periods where I run just because I want to. I'm not fast but that doesn't matter. It's something I could never do before in my life because I was so overweight and inactive. I do sometimes run local 5k events for the fun an challenge of it. I don't do it to compete with the other runners, because there is no way I can. I do it just to challenge myself. I do usually 2 or 3 a year, and the ones within a 2 hour distance from my home are anywhere form about 100 runners to 300 so they aren't too big. They are always for charity events where all levels are encouraged. Hope everything goes well and you are able to get back to running and also to be able to enjoy the horseback rides without the pain.

Good luck with that, I will rub Sammys neck for you!! Anything you take on, should be done slowly so you can get back to where you were, after surgery. So take it as easy as possible. MJ
