Day 6/14 This time

Saturday, June 15, 2013

Decided to keep my trainer for a while longer. It was *ahem* pointed out to me that I don't always communicate what I want to him very effectively. It's a hang up I admit to having--I've always found...men...difficult to talk to. That, added to not wanting to feel stupid in front of someone so knowledgeable. I know, it's all my own making. But hey, at least I get to keep him. :D

Going for a run shortly. I decided that I really need to dedicate some time and effort to actually, finally, running a full 5k. It's something I keep saying I want to do and not following through on it. So maybe this time I will.

Mar

Update: Went for my run/walk, 2.21 km in 21 minutes. Decided I'm just going to keep running the same basic route 20-30 mins at a time, until I get to the point of being able to run the full distance, and THEN increase my time/distance. I think trying to follow a set schedule is just a huge setup to failure for me.

Communicating effectively is a great skill and doesn't always come naturally! Especially if you are a "yes" person like me! Good for you for deciding what you wanted and speaking up! Cat

I have kind of the same problem talking to people - I don't want to ask or say something ridiculous in front of people. To try to overcome that, I think about what *I* would want someone to ask me about something I'm an "expert" on. I'd *want* people to ask me questions, and I wouldn't expect people to know the same stuff I know.

Good luck going forward with the trainer! I love having a trainer when I can afford one.
