gaining WEIGHT

Saturday, June 15, 2013

And I'm OK with that. No- Really- It's OK- It's actually good.

During my last few injuries I've learned some new things. First is I'm becoming very athletic. Second is, don't try to "diet" off weight while I'm upping my fitness through the roof. That second one took a while. It happened with a 10 pound weight gain (176 to 186), exercise/dieting, new injury, and my rebound. Now I'm sitting around 2600 calories per day with a over the top 400 - 500 calorie snack. Lately snack has been fat free/low sugar vanilla Ice cream/ peanut butter/choc chips/cherry pie filling/ and maybe granola.

THAT'S A LOT!! Yes it is, but not really. I'm a fan of NEAT activities, but a BITTER fan. What if you job equals 8 miles of trail walking, and you walk dogs, and you do stuff with kids, and you do dishes/cooking/wash?? What happens is you NEAT yourself right into an ICE BATH. Sparkpeople doesn't have charts for this much activity, nor do they take into account the need for a heavy carb diet of energy and amino acids for rebuilding my muscles/tendon/ligaments.

And that's why the very healthy diet with and added calorie bomb. It's extra fuel so my body can use the good stuff for what's for.

OK- back to the weight gain. I started losing weight again, nursed some tendons back to health (they are almost there), and regained some activities. THIS TIME I WAS SMART!!!

Balanced my food with exercise, made it down to 179, now back to up 181.6. I just started using the same belt notch I used at 176. WOW! WOW!! WOW!!!

No more breaking, just a steady climb of strength! Power on my Spark Friends!!

I'm so glad that you base your success on something other than what the scale says. That's difficult for some people. I think it's awesome that you are showing so much improvement!

Okay, sorry I'm out of the loop, but what is NEAT??
