Mid-Month Check In

1) Eat a salad a day

So far, I have met this goal every day but one! emoticon This is great because I've been getting more leafy greens, more consistently than usual. It is becoming second nature for me to order a salad when I eat out and to have a salad for lunch and/or dinner most days.

2) Continue to strength train at least 3x/week

Last week, I only did ST twice but this week I hit 3x. emoticon

3) Meditate and/or practice goal visualization and mental calm about ten minutes a day
This goal was probably a bit ambitious. In retrospect it seems best to build up to daily meditation slowly. I am going to aim for three times a week for the remainder of the month.

4) Lose at least 6 pounds

It could still happen! I gained a few pounds due to my anniversary indulgence but I'm going to bust my butt and see what I can do. I'll be grateful for any loss this month.

5) Average less than 1400 calories a day for the month of June

Right now I'm sitting at 1530 for the month so I'll have to adjust down. But I think this goal is still feasible since I won't have anymore anniversary weekends this month.

6) Keep the log in, nutrition tracking water intake streak alive. emoticon If I get my water in today, I will be at day 141 of this streak!

I have struggled a bit this month due, in part, to the very high expectations I have of myself. But writing this blog actually makes me feel a lot better. It shows that even though I haven't been perfect, I've still been doing my best. Not every day will be perfect. The important thing is the ability to start fresh each day and to battle back from each setback. I'm learning that skill and it will help me break the cycle and make this change permanent. emoticon
