Mexico Mission Trip

Saturday, June 15, 2013

I've been gone for the last week or so to participate in my 5th short term mission trip with Amor Ministries. We built a house over the course of 3 days for a family in need in Puerto Penaso, Mexico. It's a long drive (2 13-hour days both ways) so needless to say, I did poorly with my steps on those days. On construction days, we did a lot of manual labor, but still not too many steps. Other than the construction and some light walking, I haven't done much exercise for the past week! Also, I've fallen off the wagon due to Mexican Coco-cola (with real sugar! Delish but I know I over-indulged.)

So now that I'm back, it's time to get back on track with my steps, exercise, and especially my eating habits!

I hope everyone has a great weekend! It's good to be home!

Congrats on helping others through Missions work! That is awesome! Health and fitness is a lifetime activity, but serving others in this way is a special thing. You'll get right back into the groove soon enough! Plus, while in a new place always best just to live and truly enjoy the things you cannot do/get back home. Glad you had a good experience!!

WooHoo! It's tough with those long car trips and trying to get your steps in but I'm sure the building/manual labor helped out somewhat. It's a great thing to do something like that. Great job!

You start to see what you've missed in a healthy lifestyle. It gets in your head, and I'm sure you will adjust time management the next time you face the familiar scenario. Stay strong, focused, and well done on your mission!
