Streak Day 13 - To Do List

Saturday, June 15, 2013

I am a massive list person. My list at work is 3 pages long. One day my list fell behind my desk and there is no way to retrieve it without unscrewing the desk and pulling it out from the wall...not even close to an option as it took 2 very large men and a drill to put it together! I was LOST for an entire day! I wasn't even sure what to do. emoticon I finally went to the supply closet, picked up a new pad of paper and jotted down some things I knew I needed to do. I felt much better. emoticon

My list for home is kept on my phone. It's in an app called Home Routine. I have daily, weekly, and monthly lists of things I'd like to accomplish around the house (some are from FlyLady, some are things that are specific to our life). I like this app because each list resets at certain intervals, so I don't have to make out a new list every day, etc.

Part of my lists are just a mind dump so that I don't have a million things in my head at once. Part is to see the accomplishment of what I did that day. But mostly it's so that I don't forget anything. My boss knows that if he wants me to do something, he only has to say, "Put this on your list". If it isn't on my list, it won't get done.

One thing I've added since becoming more active on SparkPeople is daily health goals. I've added 4 lines for fruit, 10 lines for water, 10 minutes of exercise, tree pose, etc. I feel it's important to add something for me on my to do list. Seeing these items on my daily list keeps them in front of me throughout the day. It reminds me that I'm important. That my health is important. It makes me accountable to...ME and that's important in this journey. emoticon

I do a lot of To Do list and other types of list. I also use the website Cozi for Flylady and other appointments.

One day, maybe years and years later, someone might find your list hidden behind your desk... I find it fascinating.

I've only used lists at work or for the market; however. I really like your adding water, fruits and veggies on the list.

I can't survive without my List at work. I know how you must've felt without your list. I've always kept it on Excel and had formulas to forward to next day with of course pretty colors/fonts/borders.

emoticon vs emoticon sometimes I prefer both. : )

Glad it works for you! I know other list people. Now I've been known to make a list or two along the way but usually wind up leaving them behind or losing them.

I think this is a great idea. I have never kept lists in the past. Maybe I should......

Lists are a must for me. I have an app on my Ipod that I set the recurrence of items or items that are a one time thing, then I go and check them off as I do them. I think life just gets so busy that without lists our brain is 2 blocks up the road before we remember what we forgot to do.
