I have not been very good with posting blogs lately - I just have a HUGE overload at work; as a matter of fact since Easter and my trip to Houston it has been a crazy schedule... I am hoping this will change, very soon.
This last month only -
I slept an average of 4 to 5 hours /night (many time only 4) ...
I could not follow up with my workout schedule
I ate healthy breakfast and lunch - but I was always in front of my computer or eating as I was rushing in between meetings...
I had a few episode of binging (the last one was really bad - and just one week before the championship - not wise!) ...
So today I am hitting RESET on the GOALS .
My first GOAL for the summer is
- I need to eat the right stuff.
I like eating and trying all kinds of foods (good and bad!)
After my indulging tasty tour to Houston (Tx)
...where I was not counting (but I was tracking on the side! for an average daily cal range of 3000 calories - this is twice as much as what I need!), no need to say that it had a direct effect on the
! At some point I was 10 pounds heavier than my starting weigh in January!
But food was delicious... (and not so bad - the problem was quantity!)
We had lunch at Phoenicia Specialty Foods ... With two artisan bread-baking lines, the state-of-the-art facility features Phoenicia’s signature pita bread conveyors as it delivers piping fresh pita and rustic-style pizza to patrons. Talking fresh foods!
I love walking the market to look at the artisan breads, European pastries, boutique wines and beers, quality meats and cheeses, fresh seafood and meat, hot grille items, exotic produce and housewares (See more at: http://www.phoeniciafoods.com/
We tried many restaurants and bars... it would be too long to list them all - that is why I refer to my Texas short trip as a tasting tour!!!
This is one of my favorite dish creole fish:
I also really enjoy the gumbo soup in a bread bowl:
On my way back home, I made an attempt to pick something good at the airport: Hummus and pita bread... (I said it was an attempt! The portion was huge and I had a glass of wine with it! Gotta have fun too right!)
The final result was going from INDULGING to RESTRICTING!
And I could not keep up with my streak, feeling too much pressure (from me) I had episode of binging instead.
So now what?
Well - I will do what works for me.
TRACK to KEEP in RANGE : 6/week and the 7th day = Considering cal diff for the day (because it is my long run day so I am definitely burning and needing a lot more cal).
GIVE MYSELF some SLACK (pick the treats! in moderation!)
I can do this - I need to do this because it makes me feel better and more energized.
