After the quick losses of the early days of my Eat to Live Program....I'm finding it hard to stay motivated as it seems to take my body a week or longer to "adapt" to each step downward on the scale. For example, I entered "ONederland" eleven days ago and since then have "floated" around that weight...going as high as 201 and as low as 198. Is this just my body's stubborn manner of holding onto weight? Or is it evidence that I am not keeping pace with the "rules" quite enough. I know Dr Fuhrman encourages us to eat a pound of raw veggies, a pound of cooked vegges, one cup of beans and a handfull of nuts and seed s daily. He says "The more nutrient dense foods you eat, the more you will lose....He also stresses that each day we must have GBOMBS (Greens, beans, onions, mushroms, ..............seeds for the moment the other "B" is escaping my mind. Now while I eat a good amount of all these foods, I do NOT have all of them every day. I would say that mushrooms and seeds are my biggest down fall. Now for the seeds there's no excuse....just throw some flaxseed or chia seed into my smoothie....Mushrooms,I eat but not daily. But I honestly do not think that my weight loss is held up by not having some mushrooms.
I think my biggest struggle right now is his injunction not to eat in between meals When I first started, I was doing that....however then I started to nosh. Now I have a snack when I'm hungry and according to Fuhrman, your body needs periods where you feed it and periods where it FEEDS ITSELF on your fat stores. And if you are constantly supplying your hunger with food, then your body never gets to that delightful stage where it is burning fat. Plus it is hard on your pancreas to be always needing to supply insulin to balance out the food you're putting in.
So Yeah I think even more than my couple of cheats, my in between snacking is harming my weight loss efforts. So today, I will put a lid on my hunger and cravings for food and will wait for a meal before I ate. And I will see if this kickstarts my weight loss once again.
