Wow! One more day and I will finish my first whole week of the Real ME! I cannot believe I have been able to stick to this. Usually I will start strong and then when it comes to the weekend, I take off. There is something about the weekend that makes me want to relax. I have definitely got to kick that habit and find exhilarating activities to keep me moving.
Yesterday I joined The Daily Burn. We do not subscribe to cable. Instead I have a Roku Box and watch shows on Netflix, Hulu, etc. They also provide apps for healthy living. the Daily Burn is one of them. (I think SparkPeople should look into making an app for TV. Watching the videos would be so much easier on my television screen. That would be AWESOME!!!!)
Anyway, I joined and completed the dance workout "Dance Club" that lasted 36 minutes. It was fun and I think I learned some moves I could use on the dance floor if I ever decided to go dancing. I really enjoyed myself. I wish I knew how many calories I burned, bu the important thing is that I stayed active.
I then went to BWW yesterday with the hubby. I was afraid that there would not be anything healthy for me to eat but I was able to eat their grilled chicken salad with light dressing. I even used the Sparkpeople advice to dip my fork in the dressing then add the lettuce to the fork. It was quite satisfying and I hardly put a dent in the dressing container. (Why do they five you so much dressing? At least a 1/4 cup) Feeling good!
Finally, I decided to cut the grass in the front yard. It took me 30 minutes and I discovered I burned more calories doing that than my usual workouts, Maybe I need to mow grass everyday. I think I will do the backyard today. That will take me longer because it is about twice the size of the front.
Staying active is the new me, the Real ME. I love feeling good and being able to accomplish so much more than I could ever imagine.
