My Staples Grocery List

Saturday, June 15, 2013

Finding just 15 items was hard, so I settled for 20. I shop weekly, and most of these are on my buy list.

ground turkey
black beans
lunch meat
swiss cheese
romaine lettuce
sweet potato
vanilla yogurt
olive oil
cooking spray
shredded wheat
english muffins

Oh, if I had a 21st, it would be kale. I've been roasting it and the family loves it. I also added some chopped kale to mashed potatoes last night based on a dish my daughter was explaining to me. That was a great way to sneak in a leafy veg, especially if you don't like vegetables. There's some added texture, but I left the skin on the potatoes, so it blended right in.

I love kale! I saute it, make kale chips and add to to so many different things. It's seems to fit in everywhere. I've never added it to mashed potatoes though-that really sounds interesting!
