NO EXCUSES

There will be times when we do wrong and we try to excuse our sins. We will find a reason we believe is good because we did wrong and attempt tell ourselves it is okay that we did it. Then there will be times when others who give us excuses as to why we should give into temptation. We can’t be fooled into
thinking that it is okay sometimes and not okay other times. It is all wrong, all of the time.

Ephesians 5: 6 “Don’t be fooled by those who try to excuse these sins, for the anger of God will fall on all who disobey him.” (NLT)

Dear Lord, help us to recognize when we or when others are trying to excuse wrong doing. Help us to stop finding excuses for those who do wrong and be strong enough to share Your word with them. Help us to keep our relationship close to You so we can resist temptation and not give into doing wrong because of some excuse we have conjured up in our heads. Guide us to do what is right for You and help others to do the same. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

An excuse is what keeps us from getting things done.

An excuse is what gives us permission to do wrong.

Temptation breeds excuses to give in to doing wrong.

Let’s be sure we are doing the right things for the right reasons.

When we give into temptation, we always have an excuse but that still doesn’t make it right or okay.

When we find ourselves searching for excuses, we are probably trying to cover up doing wrong.

Romans 3:19 “Obviously, the law applies to those to whom it was given, for its purpose is to keep people from having excuses, and to show that the entire world is guilty before God. “ (NLT)
