Saturday at SFA canning and preserving class

Saturday, June 15, 2013

The class at Stephen F. Austin University in Nacogdoches will last all day. We've been to other classes but another can't hurt. Our tomatoes are just fixing to ripen and we have already been having zucchini and yellow squash with couscous. And zucchini bread.

Thank God for continuing education classes. We have taken rain barrel classes where we made our own and candle classes where I almost had a lye explosion. Maybe we'll have time for Nacogdoches Art League's annual juried show .

So here is another funny those of us still dependent on the old ways...

#7 of the 71 "trust" Psalms...
Psalm 13:5 But I have trusted in thy mercy; my heart shall rejoice in thy salvation.

God bless us with Rejoicing in the Salvation You have given.

With your long growing season, canning is a blessing. We have a couple of green tomatoes on a new plant I'm trying called 4th of July. Loved the photo.

Michigan State University has a vast list of co-operative Extension classes, has had for about fifty years. I do not agree with SOME of their canning methods, but do love to learn more about preserving..
