Up with one, down with the other!

I bragged too much and too soon!

I improve with one option and go down with the other. I mean that I want to cover 10,000 steps every day and drink 8 glasses of water every day. Why is that so hard for me?

Okay, I had one glorious day where I drank 8 glasses of water but no more! My steps have improved now that I have the Fitbit Flex. How about a Flex for drinking water? I have got to improve with my water drinking!

Of course, drinking water is not the only improvement that I need to make but it glares at me every day. It would be a start! It sucks to be me right now!

    It takes a while to be consistent, but you will get there. One trick I use to drink 8 cups a day is to use the one cup measuring cup. If I am exercising then it is really easy to hit that quota. I have also read that some people drink water first and after they reach their goal, they reward themselves with something else.

    I do not have a fitbit but I have heard really good things about them. Before I started running I used to aim for 10,000 steps a day and boy was it a challenge to get the steps in everyday. Some nights I would have to walk in place at night while I watched one of my shows.

    I had so much trouble "putting it all together" that I finally threw everything out and focused on ONE THING. For weeks my ONE THING was just tracking my nutrition. Once that was a fully ingrained habit I added ONE THING - getting 10 minutes of exercise. Sometimes the new habit took very little time to become natural, and sometimes it took WEEKS, but eventually all those little changes added up to a healthy lifestyle.

    Hang in there - personal change is one of the most difficult things we can do, but you ARE making it happen!
