Today's turn of events... I was able to turn for the better, for once!

When learning that our usual Friday night dining (aka Crazy Crew) was not going to take place, and knowing that the ol' geeky hubby REALLY wanted to go to the drive-in and see Man of Steel... I devised a plan, that would allow me to get some steps in on the fitbit. Much better than going out and pigging out, and sitting around all night!

Decided that Chrissy would LOVE to join us at the drive in for the double feature (always feel guilty leaving her at home). We would get there nice and early to get the spot he likes, and eat our 'fast food' (anyone around here knows Pal's - got me a 'big chicken' plain, lettuce, tomato... and I guess in the confusion of ordering Chrissy's plain hamburger patty, no bun, they completely misheard my order of fries and instead gave us a plain hot dog, no bun as well. Chrissy ate better than I!) So, I suffered no fries, but that was fine, as I'd gotten some hulless popcorn at the store on the way home from work - that'll suffice!

We finished up eating, and Chrissy and I headed off, Grocery plastic bag in hand 'just in case.' Good thing, it got used fairly quickly! We walked from our central point beside the concession/projection building, to the end of the row, then straight up the hill. Then, we walked the back area, and every row up and down. Dropped the bag in a trash can at concessions, and picked up another bag, as there would definitely be onlookers as we headed up and down the rows to the front. Of course, we had to pause a few times for people to 'pet the pretty doggie'... she may have paused, but I was a lil' nervous as so many were small children that would get pummeled by her monstrous paws!

She really enjoyed herself, and upon return to the car chugged almost a whole bottle of ice cold water! Slowly, of course, as I poured it into a bowl in small amounts. Hubby would not have appreciated a chug/spew in his car LOL

We got another brief walk in too, just before the movie started... y'no, that 'hey, you didn't pee on that last walk...' She finally did, and we could settle in & enjoy some movie!

Now, almost 3am and we're home. And, she just ate the food that was in her dish from earlier. LOL Burger & hot dog & treats weren't enough!

Now, to go sleep without an alarm waking me! Let's see if I can get closer to 8hrs solid!!! Wish me luck! I'm sure she'll be waking us to go 'out' in about 3hrs... if that long.

Happy weekend!

We only have one remaining drive-in around here, the one I used to go to was hit by a tornado several years back. Sounds like a great day! I love to pet dogs to, if it's okay with owner! emoticon

What a fun time. We don't have drive-ins anymore where we live. I use to love going!!! That was great that you and Chrissy were able to get your walk in and still see the movie and eat too!!!!! emoticon

I was quite surprised at the amount of folks that actually asked! & by that I do mean children! Great that they're being raised to ask! I, stupidly just want to reach and pet... just asking for a problem ;) Then, I fairly believe that every dog wants my lovin'!

She/we slept well this morning!!! & the scale thanked me for the walk by not creeping up from the Thursday night sodium-fest!

... I'm firmly in the camp of petting anyone's pet that ventures my way after I've been given permission.

Glad to hear everyone enjoyed the movie.
