Those of you that follow my blog know that my hubby and I have been working on adoption...well...
We found out on Tuesday that there was a change in a situation. We heard the day before that the most recent birthmom had picked another family. By Tuesday that family changed their minds. Cold feet? Too soon....the baby is due June 25. We jumped on it. Told our families, told our jobs, started to get things lined up and make some plans. We don't know boy or girl.
Today I was out shopping, getting cat food and a few necessities we will need for going to Florida. I got a call while checking out with the cat food. It's a GIRL!! She was born last night. Mom saw her, but didn't want her in the room with her. Mom signs paperwork tomorrow (Saturday) and is discharged tomorrow. Baby will be staying a few days. Baby tested positive for a few drugs (which we knew would be likely) and needs time to detox. She is a 6 pound little peanut.
Happy thoughts and prayers for me, hubby and our families would be much appreciated as we go through this process and transition.
Who would have thought we would go from zero to baby in 4 days.
I spent today shopping. I got a crib and dresser from Ikea. They didn't have the crib I really wanted, but we got a nice one and it was only $100. Do you know that most cribs in Babies R Us are over $400? Crazy! I got a car seat, diaper bag and bottles from Babies r us. I picked up a few things from Target and now I gotta figure out the logistics of packing it to take to florida. I also have to make sure I have things in line to be gone from work much sooner than expected.
So that is my exciting big news. I probably wont be around much the next few weeks. I may have access with my lap top, but I can't count on that.
