Nerds on call has had my computer in the shop for two weeks !!! Grr. They don't call me with updates on the progress. I call them, then they call the tech, then we play phone tag. Grr. They suck at customer service.

The last time they had it in the shop the same poor service happened. The lack communication skills to call and keep the consumer updated. It's like pulling teeth to get updates.

Lastly they have had the computer two weeks now. They say it will be 3 weeks until they are done fixing the computer. Even then I overheard my husband saying they don't think they can totally remove the virus. Who knows. It sounds like it won't be long before I end up getting a new computer.

Grr. Nerds is on Call is not on my happy list.

    Sorry that you're having so many problems. I like my Mac as it hasn't had any virus' but I know that PC's are more likely to get one. Praying for you dear one.

    WHAT KIND OF COMPUTER DO YOU HAVE? HY HUSBAND HAS 5 DELLS AND I HAVE ONE APPLE AND MINE RUNS CIRCLES AROUND HIS 5. HA HA! I HAVE NEVER, EVER HAD TO HAVE A REPAIR OF ANY KIND ON MY APPLE. THEY COST A BUNDLE, BUT THEY ARE REALLY WORTH IT. SUDDENLY, DH WANTS AND iPAD. GUESS WHO WILL HAVE TO SHOW HIM HOW TO USE IT AND HE DOES THAT FOR A LIVING AND CAN'T FIGURE OUT AN APPLE. CRACKS ME UP.

    That totally sucks. My computer at work picked up a malware virus on Monday and our IT company had it back to me the next day. These nerds don't sound very competent.

    Excellent customer service is hard to find these days. Even "good" customer service is hard to find. Good luck with your computer. I hope it all works out for you. I feel your frustration!! emoticon

    I'm extremely lucky to have a neighbor who was an IT person who is able to help me with my computer problems. When I see the things he does, I'm amazed. If I didn't have his help, I would probably buy a new computer asking them to transfer my data. Computer prices are coming down now.

    There is one way to completely remove a virus, but it requires a new hard drive, a clean back up, and all your programs to be reinstalled clean.

Major pain.

"They suck at customer service."

They're nerds. What do you expect?

  I wrote You about the problems I'm having with My Computer and Nerds On Call not long ago. Monday Night the Computer lost it hard drive, Wednesday Night the Weather Station put their Page on and their was no was to get it off.   I left on your Blog the problems I'm having with My Computer and Nerds on call. Monday night the computer couldn't find the hard drive,. Wednsday Night the Weather Channel put their Web Page up and their was no way to take it off. Plus other Problems Im still have with it. $229.00 for what? More Problems!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm not Happy with them at all either. We are in the same boat with our Computers it looks like. Please keep me updated to what happens. I would appreciate it very much.     Wow, I can't see why it'd have to take THAT long..

I'm glad that my brother is an IT professional, even if he's really struggling with something, it still won't take more than just a few days.

    I hope you don't end up having to get a new computer but, if you do, Dell has really good customer service. If you get their service plan they'll send someone out to your house to fix it too. I don't have the service plan but have been really happy with my computer, I've had it several years now with no problems.

    I hope they aren't the ones selling new computers! Sounds like they either don't know what they are doing or they aren't really working on yours.

    I would go with the new computer. Dell has some great buys every so often. I have 2 computers, and a lap top. I guess I kind of like electronics! lol

And that long to remove a virus? I have a friend that does mine in a couple of days if need be. I also took my 1 computer long ago to Staples and they had it ready in a couple of days. Sorry but I think they are messing with you. I would get in their face, and say I am taking my stuff and going elsewhere. emoticon

    Sounds frustrating! Three weeks is an awfully long time to try and fix a computer problem, unless it was some hardware issue. It doesn't sound like they have good customer service either when you can't get an answer in a reasonable amount of time. Grr is right!

    why don't they just delete everything and reinstall windows? never heard of removing viruses for 3 weeks . it just takes a few hours to do it. I think they only do that to fake they had a lot to do and take more money from you. every time I catch a virus my friends only keep the computer for maximum 3 days and if I'm very desperate they do it in my house in a few hours.
