Not-so-baby Steps

I'll tell you the thing that brought me back yesterday. It was the Featured Blog Post, "Mourning the Loss of a SparkFriend" by TINAJANE76

I realize after my UGH post yesterday, and the encouraging responses I got, (no one offered to come hit me over the head) that I went about things the wrong way back in February when I attempted to (re)Start my program.

My so-called Baby Steps weren't so baby-ish!

emoticon Tracking: EVERY DAY, within my target AT LEAST 4 days a week.
emoticon Freggies: AT LEAST 4 servings of fruits or vegetables EVERY DAY.
emoticon Water: 64oz of water EVERY DAY.
emoticon Exercise: 10 minutes, EVERY DAY.

Those might have been baby steps two years ago, but they're HUGE FROG LEAPS for me now.

Time to rethink some things. A little self-examination.


CELEBRATELIFE, BJPENNY70, and GORIANA got it right in their comments to my last blog. I am in a different time of life right now. I need a different strategy.

I have two small children. I work three part time jobs. I am EXTREMELY BUSY. I can only juggle so much at once. I can't adapt to huge schedule changes right now.

How about this for the next two weeks?

emoticon Water: 64oz of water EVERY DAY.
emoticon SPARK: read and post something EVERY WEEKDAY

Eventually, I will be back to posting, tracking, eating well, exercising, running, strength training, and whatever else needs doing on this journey, but for today.... I'm here.

KellSouth, in case it helps, let me tell you my path. I joined SP more than five years ago. I have kept pushing past countless plateaus and gains and losses. Slowly I have gotten to within striking distance of my goal, but it took a lot of self-reflection to figure out what worked for me. Then, each discovery got me a little closer, but eventually my weight would level out and I had to go back to the drawing board.

However, now I know I can do it. AND I know you can too. Stay in the game, and enjoy the experiment.

    Thank you for Tinajane's blog. She is right on in everything she posted. I noticed when I came back on how quiet spark memphis has gotten even with the multitude of leaders. I hope that some spark will get it going again.
