I voluntarily got my picture taken!!! I know. . . it's a weird non-scale victory, but it is HUGE for me. I hide from cameras and delete most pictures of myself and today I asked to have my picture taken!!
My son and I went out for our weekly 5K this morning (this is our 4th week!). I checked the weather - 62 degrees and 0% chance of rain per weather channel. Perfect conditions if you ask me!
We hopped in the car and headed towards the beach. I mapped out a route last evening. As we drove over, the rain/drizzle began. (I want to be wrong at my job as often as meteorologists are and still be employed!!!) OK. . . . son. . . . what should we do? Let's give it a shot and stop if it starts pouring.
We proceeded to dodge large puddles and successfully completed our 5K in 35 min 44 sec! Not too bad!!
When we got back, I saw the camera sitting there on the entry way bench. I thought "I want to capture this feeling". Let's take our picture!
I am so proud of my journey thus far. I am proud of running with my son in the rain. I am proud of making healthy choices. AND I am proud of the picture of my son and I drenching wet, sweaty and feeling great from our run.
