Update on my last blog.

My local doctor rang me today after he had spoken to the Nephrologist. It is as I thought, seem I have had kidney cancer before it is more than likely KC again. The growth is a large solid cyst which is why they are sure that it is KC. But they are going to do the MRI on the 20th August to confirm this. At least now they are going to investigate instead of saying that they will take the kidney by the end of the month. (June).

I am sure they do not listen to me in Adelaide as I said 4 times that when I have the MRI I will need a light sedative as I get caustiphobic? but did he order it "NO".

Another positive is that at least my local doctor now knows everything which again is a blessing as I will have his support.

I go back down to Adelaide on Sunday and go into hospital on Monday to have the fistula raised. I hope they do it this time.

    Hello Wendy,
I'm a little slow at reading you blog but you mentioned about trouble with MRI. They can give you medication before the MRI and you sleep and when you wake up you feel like it took 10 minutes or so and don't remember any more then that. I was so happy that I decided to do that last time. I have had both my hips replaced now and now my back is a problem and knees but it one day at a time and all is better. I am doing pool PT and I love it.
Hope all gets better soon with your Kidney and everything else for you. emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon

I'm glad the doctors finally realised they should
do an MRI first and having your doctor's support
is a great relief. Good luck tomorrow. emoticon

thank you, I will be seeing my doctor and talking to him about the best way to handle the MRI. He may have some suggestions as I am sure he would not like me to have a heart attack, I felt like that the first time I had one. LOL. Not a good feeling.

My local doctor has been through so much with me, firstly my head problems, then the KC and now this. He has been a fantastic doctor.

Yeah, DH needs a mild sedative before an MRI too - though last time he came out telling me it was "a really fun ride in a space rocket" - LOL! (Maybe it was more that mild!)

Could/would your local dr give you the mild sedative to take along to the MRI appt?

And good luck on Monday with this surgery - hope it's fast and easy for you and the dr!!!!

Wow, that's wonderful news actually that they're going to do the MRI! That's as it should be. If it were me, I wouldn't let them put me in the MRI machine till I was sedated. That's just how it would be! I can understand, having had a few MRI's myself. I never considered myself claustrophobic, but that did it for me!

Good luck, safe travels and prayers sweetie!

    Hello Darling.
There is still a chance that the cyst is benign .. I am so glad good sense has prevailed and the MRI will be done ..
You need to make sure they know that you are claustrophobic . If you move when the scan is being done it could foul the reading. Sending love to you .. Susie emoticon emoticon
