Day 2 on Sparkpeople! I literally spent hours on here yesterday.

I love this website/community, it is exactly what I needed! Especially the support system!

I ate 1200 calories yesterday and exercised for 35 minutes. Good start! Now the weekend is approaching and I have night shifts all weekend at the senior home I work at. I actually do not find it very hard to eat healthy during those shifts, but I usually have a hard time exercising in the daytime when I work night shifts! I think Ill do some of the videos here on sparkpeople. I tried a 14 minute Bollywood workout yesterday and it was a great workout!

Im going to the gym today with my friend. Its always good to have a gym buddy who keeps you accountable. Im more likely to skip the gym if Im by myself, but if I know someone is waiting for me there, I wont! I usually go with my sister, and Im lucky because she just graduated with a B.S. in Physical Education and during her education, she also got into weight lifting, so she has been showing me new exercises.

    Thank you for posting on my recent blog.

    I don't deprive myself of anything, usually. But I usually give myself a "day off" from tracking everything I eat, it helps to know that I'm not perfect, and if there's one day I don't get to track, it's not the end of the world, and probably wont destroy everything I have done up to that point.

    Thank you for answering the question! I have both tried having one cheat meal a week and one cheat day and the result have been very random. I have lost with the cheat day and also with the cheat meal! As for this summer, I think Ill try having one cheat meal per week, but at the same time Im also following the 80/20 rule, eat healthy 80% of the time and the 20% can be more unhealthy. I also dont deprive myself, If Im at a birthday, for example, and I already had my cheat meal, I still have some, but use portion control!

    I agree with TEHSB25, I don't deprive myself but I try to do everything in moderation. It usually work... LOL
    I've started to work out again and I'll have to figure out how to fit it into my work schedule when I go back this fall (I'm a teacher). I guess if I'm going to be serious about it I'll figure something out.

    I don't cheat per say, but I have learned not to deprive myself of anything I want. I just usually try to eat whatever I have in moderation. If I go out to a restaurant I may not pick the salad...I might pick the pasta but have them box half of it up for me prior to bringing it out.

    I've learn in my weight loss ups and downs and depriving myself just leads to binge eating later.
