Heart Murmur

Thursday, June 13, 2013

Today both Charlie and I had appts. with the nurse practitioner and she had a student near the end of his training. I went only for BP meds and Charlie wanted new prescriptions of all his meds. He also wanted a referral for a physiotherapist because of all the muscle pain he has with his arthritis. So the NP took both of our BPs and listened to both of our hearts. This was the first time in a long time anyone listened to my heart and it turns out I have developed a heart murmur. So I need to go for and ultrasound of my heart to find out what is going on. Interesting!

Lets hope yours is an innocent murmur.....It seems that innocent murmurs don't cause symptoms. Good news is that having one doesn't require you to limit your physical activity or do anything else special. Although you may have an innocent murmur throughout your life, you won't need treatment for it.

I just went back and reread the health topic on heart murmurs...I now know just as much as I did before!!! which is zilch!

Let's just pray yours is one of those benign ones that don't amount to a thing...

Sort of like my A-Fib. As long as I take my BP meds, I don't even know it's there. emoticon emoticon
