I forgot to do a recap of my smoothie cleanse! Bf's stupid laptop is still acting up, so my only blogs come from sneaking them on the clock... just slipped my mind.
Day 1, as you know, was full of yucky smoothies and then I ate dinner regularly. Day 2 I woke up with a flat tummy, which was exciting! No puffy bloat from overeating at night. By the time I went to Barre class at 10am I'd already downed two smoothies of pear, pineapple, banana, almond milk and greens. I was peeing constantly, but I also had so much buzzy energy I ROCKED my workout. Saturdays are back-to-back fitness classes for me, and by the time pole class came around I wowed everyone by inverting on the practice rings first try. I felt like a BEAST. I ended up sneaking some solid food.. I think I had a fried egg on greens and some almonds. Dinner smoothie was really soup... tomatoes, celery, onion, garlic, olive oil blended up and served hot. Technically allowed though. Day 3 I was pretty much over the fruit. Practically everything I put in my mouth that whole weekend was sweet. I made myself a dinner smoothie, and it was gross so I poured it out and ate a real meal instead, haha. Woke up the day after the cleanse 3 lbs down, but my body fat% was up and my water was way down... so obviously it was just water weight that came off.
CONCLUSION... I'm waffling on whether this was good thing or not. Subsisting on fruit and greens alone probably shocked my insulin levels with all that sugar. However, I think it was good to lay off solid food for a little while to give my guts a rest. I probably won't do it like this again. Maybe next time I'd do veggie juice instead.
