It took some serious motivation on my part to get up and working out today. Morning was a little tough as in I still have tummy issues. But to be honest I rather be running to the bathroom for 45 minutes than having to take laxatives every night.
I also wasn't really "feeling" it today. I was tired, and really didn't want to get up, but I did anyways. I sat down to do my morning stuff on the computer basically as a way to fill up my time in between bathroom trips and attempting to get going. Of course, I had another issue by sitting down....
Phoebe, my cat, is a very odd cat. Generally speaking you have to have the blanket on you just right for her to jump on your lap. And she only accepts us (my parents and I). It's partly her breed as to why she is the definition of "scary-dy cat." Well since she ignored the computer (shock), she was really aiming for some attention. So I had to give her some love, which I am always more willing to do than she is willing to accept!
Finally I was able to drink some water and head at the door. It was about 45 minutes later than my 8:00am goal time, and it was already hot. Muggy mostly. I felt like I was in the coastal city of Houston, not the sub-desert rocky Central Texas I am currently in! The sun was hot, I was tired, and I knew I wouldn't be any better than on Monday. I was still able to complete my first two 3 minute jogging intervals alright, but the second two kinda sucked (sorry for the language, but it did)! I was able to do about 2 minutes the third jogging interval, before walking for a few second, then completing the rest of it. The final, and fourth interval, I did about 1:30 of it before walking. But I was able to run the last minute. Funny enough, the end of the workout is signaled by a fade in music, and it finally happened in between songs. So I had to check my watch to see if it really was done! By the time I got home, I was so tired, I didn't want to do anything more, but I still did some Dance Central on the Kinect and my fav Spark butt video.
My new $5 earbuds from BigLots works great. I can hear a bit more outside noise, which is a good thing. Plus the music sounds clearer. The only thing I don't like is that the difference between the verbal cues in my app seem at a lower volume than my music. I think I can change that on my app though. I feel like I have to listen to my music more loudly to hear the cues better. I actually got two pair of earbuds at BigLots, both for $5, and both have a little mic/remote, plus no tangle cords (both a first for me). Two quick clicks and I can change the song. This makes me immensely happy. I know a bunch of people pay around $30 or more dollars to find earbuds, I find the cheapies last just as long, if not longer than the more expensive ones. Generally I wear my earbuds 4 times or more a week. These that I bought at BigLots, for, you guessed it, $5 lasted 6 or more months. The last pair, and only pair of non BigLots, earbuds I got lasted not even 2 months.
I do need a new battery for my heart rate monitor though. It is really starting to drop of, thus reading a lower HR than I actually have. I have two more days to use it, and I am kinda worried it won't last that long.
