Am I Settling?

Thursday, June 13, 2013

Most people are not going after what they want. Even some of the most serious goal seekers and goal setters, they're going after what they think they can get.
~Bob Proctor

I have to consider this carefully - I may just be doing this!

Sometimes we don't know what we really want until we can clear up (or clear out) some of the other "stuff" in our life. Take two small steps today, and you are on your way.

Ah, but a man's reach should exceed his grasp, or what's a heaven for?

-- Robert Browning

In other words, even if you don't reach your goals, trying for them brings you closer than you would be if you didn't try. Keep striving!

I think it's important to aim high, but I do go after what is achievable. I want to be taller, but I'm going after being being less wide.

What do you want and what are you getting?

    So true!!!
I tell myself I'm "just a mom" and have been overweight most of my life, so I have this self-defeating thought that I CAN'T LOSE WEIGHT. Therefore, the immediate gratification of food (and much of the gratification is much of it perceived rather than real) takes priority over my efforts to lose weight.
Thanks for the wake-up call!!!
