Getting close

Thursday, June 13, 2013

Only 5 days to go and I will have my surgery. Getting nervous so keeping busy as much as my back will allow, to keep my mind off of it. I hope all are safe after the storms last night. We just had the hard rains. There was to be a ball game last night against Belmond but they were hit with a tornado just before they were to leave to come here. So glad those kids were not on the road yet. It now looks like it will be a nice day today. Have been busy cleaning house and want to run get groceries today so that all is in good shape while laid up. I am going to get a bunch of lean crusine meals so hubby can just fix for me and not have to figure out what to make for me.

You are probably like a "nesting" Mom right now; getting everything ready before the big day. But you are smart to do that so you will have less worries later while you are recovering. Especially with the meals; you don't have to worry about hurting hubby's feelings if he doesn't know what to make for you or if he makes something that is not on your plan and you don't really want to eat, but you do to make him feel good. (we've all been there). I'm glad you are still able to get up and around to do things, but it must be difficult when you are in all that pain. Just think in another week you will be on the road to recovery and hopefully pain free. I will be praying for a quick recovery.
So glad those kids were all safe and hadn't gotten on the bus. I know you are a huge baseball fan so I have to do a little bragging for a local kid. He was a friend of my son's through high school and just this week got drafted by the Baltimore Orioles. He played in college at a Division III school so he has worked very hard to get here. So just a little hometown pride to brag about. It was his dream and I think its pretty awesome!
We are getting hit with the Noreaster today. Mostly rain and high winds so I better go.... time to board the Ark!! emoticon emoticon emoticon
