How to: Turn your favourite candy into a healthy meal

Thursday, June 13, 2013

What do you do if you want this:

1 bar gives you:

Nutrition Facts
Cadbury Dairy Milk Fruit & Nut Bar

Serving Size: 49 gram(s)

Amount Per Serving

Calories 240.0
Total Fat 12.7 g
Saturated Fat 7.2 g
Polyunsaturated Fat 0.0 g
Monounsaturated Fat 0.0 g
Cholesterol 0.0 mg
Sodium 40.0 mg
Potassium 0.0 mg
Total Carbohydrate 27.3 g
Dietary Fiber 0.7 g
Sugars 27.0 g
Protein 4.1 g

You wont be full, and you'll get a sugar rush, plus you'll be hungry in the next 2 hours - and I mean HUNGRY.

So what do you do?

You make this:

It's Plain Porridge with raisins, nuts and 1 bar of thin cadbury chocolate.

But it was very yummy, very hot, soothing and satisfying on a miserable rainy British summer day. It tasted the same as the chocolate bar, but with more oomph.

I loved the pecans and giant raisins and almonds - it was heavenly. I got my kick and multiplied the protein by 4 of what I would've gotten by eating 1 bar.

421kcals well spent in my opinion.

Oh - forgot to mention - another milestone, I guess - had to buy a belt to make sure my new size 12 jeans don't slip - high time for new jeans...

There you go, an excellent idea!

Sometimes when I am craving sweet - I will add a Tablespoon of nut butter and a teaspoon of miniature chocolate chips to a cup of plain Greek yogurt - yummy!
