Update---Restasis do you use it???

Thursday, June 13, 2013

My eye doctor prescribed Restasis for my dry eyes, I guess quite common condition after menopause.

Was wondering if any of you use it and what has your experience been. I hate using medications at all, but the over the counter stuff is not cutting it for me.

So it seems to be working, I use it in the morning..the whites of my eyes are actually white again and not all red. I open the little daily vile, use my dose and cap off and store in the fridge and use the next morning..Doctor said can do that way, cuts on cost. So far so good!

I have used Restasis. It worked for me.

OTC things have preservatives and eventually they make the dry eye problem worse. But Restasis is kept in the fridge and has no preservatives.

I agree with Julia it is very expensive. My dr. prescribed it but I did not get it because of the cost. I did use an over the counter eye drop and it helped. If you decide to use it let me know if it helped.

I used it for a short time but found it to be very expensive (even with insurance). I use Systane, (Over the Counter) which was recommended by an eye doctor for my son who has dry eyes too. If it hadn't been for the cost, I would've kept on using it.
