SP tip: To lower triglycerides....

Wednesday, June 12, 2013

Since your body releases triglycerides into the bloodstream from your stored fat, the less fat you have available, the lower your triglycerides will be. You don't have to lose a lot of weight to see a benefit either. Losing just 7-10% of your body weight (just 14-20 pounds for a 200-pound person) can make a difference in your triglycerides—and for your heart!

Once my triglycerides were 1200 (over 150 is high) and the Doctor laughed and said "Well, when you live in SUGAR, that is to be expected.) At the time I drank two 2-liter bottles of COKE-A-COLA each day and almost nothing else. Now, my levels are 350 which is to high, but I don't drink Coke.

YUP! MY CHOLESTEROL IS ACTUALLY LOW BUT MY TRIGLYCERIDES ARE THRU THE ROOF. AND I HAVE LOST MORE THAN 50% OF MY BODY WEIGHT AND THEY STILL STAY HIGH AND THE MEDICATION FOR THEM CAUSES BIG TIME MUSCLE ACHES TO THE POINT THAT THEY HAD TO TAKE ME OFF THE MEDICATION. IS THERE NO END TO THIS MADNESS?

I have found triglycerides easier to lower than my bad cholesterol. I love seed and nuts, avocado, and coconut and good oils and that is all it takes and being consistent with the good fats.

Triglycerides can be tough. My cholesterol both HDL and LDL are in range but still the triglycerides are higher than they should be. I am still trying after all these years to get them down. If the next blood work has not down I will need to take medication.
This is after losing close to 50 pounds.
Those pounds lost have allowed me to stop taking High blood pressure meds. diabetes type 2 meds and cholesterol meds . Still those triglycerides are so STUBBORN.
Thanks for the info I know it will help many others. Pat in Maine.
