Itty bitty baby steps

Okay. I made one choice today that will sound Not Impressive to some, but reflects my being a little more conscious about my food intake. Finally having my sink back (yay!), I was really wanting to cook. Who knew the prospect of washing dishes could be so exciting?

Anyway, I went to the store, and bought some tilapia, veggies, and a container of deli mac salad. Deli salads are a weird downfall I have--if it's some kind of mayo/pasta/something, I'll scarf it down without a second thought, and I mean the medium-sized deli containers, you know the kind! Tonight was a compromise. I did get the macaroni salad, BUT I also made the tilapia, and had a great big bowl of steamed broccoli. Also, I only got the small container of salad. Probably still 1.5 servings too many, but you know...baby steps!

Isn't it weird, our strange "binge" foods? I mean, most grocery store deli salads are just gross, and all pretty much taste the same. Still, we all have our things, and there's one of mine. I feel kind of dirty even writing it, actually!

    It's a positive step in a positive direction. Yay for the talipia and broccoli, and I'd say a smaller container is a definite good choice!! That's the kind of change that over time will make a difference! emoticon emoticon
Glad you sink is working too!! It's wierd how badly we miss everyday appliances that we never even think about until they're not working! emoticon

    Haha! Maybe you could find a slightly healthier recipe to make your own deli salads?
