The Y -AND- Mowing?

Wednesday, June 12, 2013

Yeah... I'm a monster today!

Didn't feel good yesterday, didn't even get 1k steps on the ol' FitBit!!! If it's a reaction to the new med (Linzess) that had me down yesterday, hopefully that was a lil' adjustment period. Or, today was just a day it didn't work like yesterday. Or, I had a quick tummy bug from something I ate Monday? (I made up for lack of moving, with lack of eating - too nauseous!

So... after work, late... I broke out and since I was already starving (today's diet wasn't enough to sustain the elliptical more than 5 mins at that point)... I weighed the pros and cons, entered a few choices in the food tracker... then eliminated while looking at the full details report. I ended up choosing a Blueberry Pomegranate Smoothie from McSomewhereNasty as my 'workout fuel'.

It worked, but then I think it was a bit much 'liquid' right before a workout, too! I only made it 32mins before feeling too tummy-icky to continue.

Got home and found hubby finally gettin' the front yard... a few passes remained at the top - and then the front corner was still untouched yet. So, I muscled the mower away from him (yeah, that took a whole lot of effort - NOT!), and finished his job... but stopped shy of the last few passes on the corner. Didn't want him to feel bad LOL

Then, so glad I remembered - the light on the side deck over Chrissy's yard is finally replaced too! I can finally see again when I let her out/in at night! It's been a couple weeks forgetting until it was too dark. They're very difficult to do, as the fixtures are old/floppy... and we only got the one of three bulbs replaced again. The other two, we can't get a good grip with the extension pole tool, and at the right angle... so still won't be able to see her in the lower part of the yard well. But, the important one... if a burglar chose to hide behind her in the dark (yeah, that would happen... she'd be too busy licking them to death)... or another animal... or just about anything... I'd have had a heart attack on the spot. So very glad we'll have light there again. Guess we really need to replace those fixtures - and the wiring or whatever is fubar with the ones either side of the front door. Pretty sure it's a wiring issue in the attic, not the fixtures themselves. I installed them, and they worked at least 6 months! Can't be the installer!!!

So... now I get to just chill the rest of the evening... find something without loads of sodium to 'finish' out dinner with... smoothie has been sufficiently burned!

Happy end of Hump Day to all! Tomorrow begins the "it's almost Friday" chants!!!

Med changes are not fun, especially when that med is supposed to help tummy troubles.

When judging air quality, don't look at the humidity levels as much as the dew point. That will tell you what it feels like. What you want is a dew point below 60.

Oh ... it's definitely hot & muggy... High today was 89... and now ... 2 hours after finishing mowing it's still 79 & 73% humidity. Nasty! But I needed more steps than I was able to get done on the elliptical ;)

I hope to be able to do Chrissy's yard again Saturday ;)

Thanks!!! I'm hoping the side effects wear off, and the fixing of issues kicks in!

If it's as muggy & hot where you are, I don't know how you could stand to mow very long. Hope you get to feeling better & the initial shock of the new med wears off! emoticon
