Hello everyone! I'm mad at my parents, right now. We've never had that good of a relationship, but it is what it is. My mother and father disapprove of the South Beach Diet Lifestyle. They don't agree, with it, because it says to eat six times a day. They think that's too much. I would be cool with that, if it wasn't for the fact, that I've done this diet before and they saw me lose weight on it. I don't know what the big deal is, as I agreed to give $100 to my Mom, for staying in her home. So what's the big deal, about me eating six times a day. It's not like, I'm eating for nothing. I bought food for the house, this past month. Guess what happened, my lips barely touched half of the stuff. Of course, it's because most of it wasn't healthy, but still.

I will eventually have to get a place, of my own. I am not up to defending my eating habits, on a constant basis. Thanks for listening.

    Parents have a hard time recognizing that their children have grown. At this point you have the right to decide what goes into your body, and when.

I'm struggling with this issue from the other side, as my 22 yo son is living with me, and paying for the space he occupies, and for his own food. I try so hard, but sometimes I still slip up and find myself trying to dictate to him how he should live, and what he should eat. It is none of my business and I know it, but he is my son and I love him.

I hope the 3 of you find balance.

I'm a big fan of South Beach. Had great success with that plan and still eat South Beach recommended foods.

    You might show them the book. South Beach was developed by a cardiologist and is recognized as one of the healthiest diets.

Good nutrition is important. . . . . . . maybe get your own shelf in the refrigerator and stay out of home stuff and do your thing! I don't use the word "diet" I like the SparkPeople Nutrition Tracker. That might give you some help to stay on your 6 meals, and as you say give you a good response their negative responses!
