Visit with the doc & working out

Wednesday, June 12, 2013

I went to see my Naturopathid doc this morning for a check-up. Of course he wants me to get in for a PAP smear and ... shudder ... a mammogram! I know people feel very strongly about having mammograms done, but I personally do not intend to get one done at this point in time. I may POSSIBLY consent to an ultrasound of my breast tissue, but that's it. If radiology can't perform this with a req then it's just not happening.

Nothing exciting to report. I seem healthy on the outside, BP good in spite of my excess sodium intake. I keep trying to get that down, but it's everywhere! I had 8 large vials of blood drawn, which included a vial for B-12 & folic acid levels. They fed me breakfast before I left - an organic apple and protein shake. I'll know more when the results come back, but hopefully my MPV was high last year because my B-12 was low. I'm crossing my fingers!

I haven't gotten my workout in yet, but I will shortly. I haven't missed a workout day in weeks so in spite of lacking a little motivation the past few days I have done well. In fact I've even gotten more time in than I'd planned just to push myself for being a whiny baby about it. I'm happy to say I felt better for it and my motivation is back on track.

We've made it half way through the week and I see a major storm in the middle of the country. Please be careful if you are in that area!

It is great that you are getting a check. I hope you results come in without any issues. As for the mammogram, that is your decision. I probably won't be doing it as soon as the doctor says I need to.. I hope your day is GREAT!

There's some other new method for detecting breast abnormalities that I can't remember right now, but I'll try to find out for you. It doesn't involve radiation. I hope all the blood work goes well. Stupid SP (well, actually I love it, but...) threw me off your blog subscription, so that's why I haven't been commenting. Hope you had a great day!

I love that you're not letting an unmotivated attitude stop you. Maybe that is what TRUE motivation is? Plowing ahead despite our mind.

Glad you got a good report, for the most part. I hear you on the mammogram. I am scheduled for one in July-cringe! And I know you won't miss a workout. You are too dedicated. The storms missed us last night. Next round on Friday? Time will tell. HUGS!
