Lost and the Lap Band

Wednesday, June 12, 2013

You know the first day of your diet - you call it day one, or the start-over day, or D-day whatever you want to call it im back there. Actually - and honestly - im lost, so very lost in this diet thing....

I weigh 270 pounds, Ive been big my entire life, havent weighed under 200 pounds since high school. My father is overweight, my mother is overweight, weight problems run in my family. Three years ago I sat in the same position, weighing in at 270 pounds and hating myself for it, so I joined a gym and I joined Nutrisystem and within 6 months lost 60 pounds and loved life and my body. But Nutrisystem was a "fast fix" and once you stop ordering the food the weight crept back on, I learned healthy eating - but appling it was difficult. So I was on my own for two years and only gained back 10 pounds, which I considered a victory then...........

I lost my job, and spent 18 months looking for another one. Long story short, I gained back the 60 pounds. This time I want a permanent fix, im tired of struggling, tired of hating myself, and tired of missing out. Thats why i think the lap-band surgery is right for me, i eat relatively healthy, i exercise 5 times a week. I just eat too much.

So today I call to schedule the first appointment with the doctor towards surgery, go to the gym this eveing, and attend my weight watchers meeting tomorrow. Im not done trying yet.
