Mind you, I get off work at the end of the day, I am mentally tired. I usually pick up my daughter, make her dinner, eat something myself, maybe pick up this or that, and then got to my room and relax. Read, watch TV, check email... Just chill. That is if my daughter doesn't have an activity. I try to keep her active; she plays soccer in the spring and fall, and then basketball in the winter and summer, and then I try to have her in at least one other temporary activity (she's tried Zumba, tennis, and currently hip hop dance) when she is out of school. But, last night was an off night. Nothing going on. When this happens, she tends to park herself on the couch in front of the TV and play games on her Kindle. I don't mind her playing games, but it bugs me when she sits there for hours. So, I played a game with her for an hour on the wii, and then we played Just Dance 4 for almost an hour. It was actually fun, and I say that as someone who has never enjoyed dancing recreationally. But, I enjoyed doing it with her, and it was quite the workout. By the end, I was sweaty and panting. It felt so good to combine activity and quality time with my child. That's a successful night in my book.
