Yesterday had been forecast as being a hot day. The night before I told my husband I would go for an early run to beat the heat.

You have already guessed that I didn't get out early.

One thing about stating my intention to run however, to my husband and to my spark friends. I had to go didn't I?

It was a hot run. I made my goals for the run to just do at least two miles, keep my pace consistent, and my heart rate within my range.

I I exceeded my goals and I also reminded myself of an important lesson.

Plans help us to achieve. Plans also help us to make things go as well as they can. Not following my plans made it much more difficult than it had to be.

I wonder if I learned the lesson this time. emoticon

Your running is such an inspiration to me. Now I guess I don't have any more excuses not to get out there and pick up my own pace.

It does help to make our selves accountable. Still, stuff happens and plans get ruined. Planning helps but we have to stay flexible too. That's what you did. You got it done!

P.S. I'm glad you got your run even if it did turn out to be a Hot Run.

    I know I'm a slow learner!

You made it happen & that's the important part.

Sometimes you just have to do it, right?
Glad you could round up your motivation no matter what the incentive was.

Yep, I think we are all wired to achieve more when we know that somebody knows what we said we would do. Another reason why SP is so successful. It keeps us all accountable to each other. I know I for one would tend to slack off if I didn't think y'all were watching!

Now....DID you learn your lesson? We shall see!

I LOVE to run! The Texas heat and the uneven roads have forced me inside so we are looking into treadmills so i can continue to train for my 5k's and my goal 1/2 marathon in 2014!
WTG on running!!!!
Would love to have you as a sparkfriend! ;-)

Well, I note that when I say I'm going to do something, something else usually gets in the way. For instance getting a cold so I can't see Elenore yet, or not being able to change chapters back and forth on my Kindle so I haven't started my Spark Solutions.
Yep, gotta watch what you proclaim, because now I have to A: buy the book, B: learn to manipulate my Kindle.
I'm proud you went for your run, for your sake I wished it had been before the higher heat.
