How to Play With Others

Wednesday, June 12, 2013

I'd like to share a story with you.
I had a friend who used to show of them was Blaze.
Blaze was personality plus...amazingly bright and soooo lovable.
The first few times Blaze was at a show ...he won.
But ...bright creatures bore
He was brought to a show and all the dogs were lined up to do their stuff
and Blaze...
well, he'd done this before...and he got he started to yawn.
My friend started giving him all kinds of hand signals...more yawns
he got tired...and laid down...
Blaze nudged over to the dog next to him...he figured he'd make a friend.
Now the other dogs started getting fidgety...
they all knew someone was they got nervous.
point point point
Then some of them got confused.
point point point point point point
Blaze ...unphased...looked around like: "What's up with these guys?"
glanced over at his mistress
{who by this time was frantic with the hand signals}
and Blaze just got up and walked over to console her.
The judges suggested maybe Blaze should find other shows.
She stopped showing Blaze.
But every time I saw Blaze, he'd be smack in the middle of a group of kids, playing, talking, participating, and singing along.
I will never forget him.
Isn't that what it's all about.

So yesterday as I was looking at the Samoyeds singing H-Bday
I also found this cute one
How to play with a different size fellow:) (5:23 minutes...and worth it)

I really liked the energy of the little dog and so cute! I am looking for a small energetic dog to adopt in the next few years. Thanks for posting this video and giving me a breed to think about that I hadn't before.

Nice story and indeed that's what it should be all about. The breeder wanted to show our current shar pei and after thinking long and hard about it I decided it just wasn't for us. Cute video - thanks for sharing!!!

That was emoticon Sheryl. Thanks for sharing. I love dogs and they are just like people. When people get bored they yawn and lose interest - like in school. So it appears that they are failures when in actuality they are geniuses and don't fair well in school. Way to go Blaze!

That video was so much fun to watch!

AWWWWWWWW.... I only wish JAXMOM could see them playing! Too cute. And you are so right... the brighter the dog, the more easily bored! and the other lesson... not everyone is a show dog... I'd rather be Blaze!

As a mom to an Akita, I loved this video and found it to be pretty true. Big dogs tend to be gentle giants and the little ones are energetic and peppy. So sweet to watch!

I would have had a much easier time socially, heck I still would, if people had tails that would wag (or not) visibly and involuntarily. Dogs are more evolved than we.
