Three and a half weeks

I'm three and a half weeks into my new lifestyle and so far, so good! I am definitely starting to sense patterns, most notably that when I'm unprepared I do more poorly than when I have a plan.
Although my overall intake/output has been OK, yesterday and today felt less in control than in the past and I think that's because I didn't have a meal plan, hadn't been shopping and the DH is out of town on business.
My plan today goes against everything I know to be effective in weight loss--I'm eating too little and working out more than I should (I even took OTC diet pills for a few days!) BUT there's a reason and an end in sight. Later this month we leave for our first ever Hawai'ian vacation and the max weight for the zip line is 250 lbs dressed and with shoes. Well... I have some really light shoes and I plan to wear some really light clothes, but last Thursday I was 249.9 dressed (no shoes) so I need to keep edging off the pounds so I'll know I won't be turned away!
Today we went back to the grocery store so I can get back on track, despite a catered luncheon tomorrow and a fancy work dinner on Thursday--augh, why do they torment me so??!?
Anyway, SP has given me the motivation to successfully lose in the past so I am confident that I can once again become a svelte healthy fit chica!
