Day 72 - 14 pounds down!

Tuesday, June 11, 2013

So excited that I am 14 pounds down! Took 72 days to get here, but I don't mind!

I walked 4 miles this morning. After coming home and resting a little, I did some grocery shopping at a grocery store with an amazing selection of produce!

Yesterday, I was craving ice cream and my young son, my cheer leader, would stop me each time. Well, he took off with his friend and my older son to a Chicago Cubs game and I had the craving...

I started off wanting an Oreo Blizzard at Dairy Queen (approx 800 calories) but I felt too lazy to drive there. Then I thought about getting a single serving drumstick ice cream at Walgreens. My husband said to get it at Walmart from a box since it is much cheaper. So off I went... I found it, checked the calories to be 300. Next to this product was an M&M ice cream sandwich for 250 calories. I bought the M&M ice cream. And it fixed my craving!

Well, today I had another one after I went grocery shopping. I promptly got a headache. Laid down and read a new library book until the pain meds began working. A rogue storm was coming upon us. Went outside and helped my husband weed the garden until the rains came down, which lasted about 20 minutes. Then it cleared up and my son's game was still on.

They had a very late start but lost to the 10 run rule. Boo....

Finally at 9:30 pm, I am home and serving tacos for dinner. I was starving! I managed to eat in moderation and stay within my calorie range. Yay me! It is past 10:30 and this Chickie-Baby is going to bed!

Tomorrow, I may not be able to walk outside since more storms are headed this way. I love storms!

Good night!

Deborah, MSW

ps. I applied to at least 10 jobs yesterday!

Wow, congrats on the weight loss! That's amazing. I know exactly how you feel on the ice cream. I absolutely love ice cream and oreos. One of the very few things that I ate from McDonalds was the Oreo McFlurry and when I go to Dairy Queen, I usually get the Oreo blast. Great job on finding a better alternative that still satisfied the craving.
