Day 1 of my "Cleanse" (Pics and some changes I had to make)

Tuesday, June 11, 2013

I'm feeling good after my first day. I had planned on taking the girls to the pool but it was a rainy, stormy day. It worked out good, anyway, because my oldest daughter needed to go to the doctor for Strep.

I had to make some changes to my 6 Day "Cleanse." My juicer has malfunctioned somehow so I had to make my way to a neighborhood town to a fancy grocery store that I know makes fresh juices daily. So they're a bit different. I've altered my plan a tad. Changes are noted below:

~ Two cups of coffee with coconut milk creamer and one Tbsp fresh ground honey roasted peanut butter (I love peanut butter in the morning)

Tonic #1
~ Fresh beet, apple, and carrot juice

~ Pineapple and Cherries

Tonic #2:
~ Fresh green juice (spinach, parsley, ginger, cucumber)

~ Ezekiel bread with mashed black beans, roasted bell peppers and onion, carrots, and okra

~ I originally wasn't going to have a treat, but I found Lychees at the grocery store. YUM! I'm allowing myself 3 per night, just as a little tasty bonus :-)

So Delicious coconut milk creamer has been my little dairy-free, soy-free godsend. Now they have one in the larger Tetra Pak boxes called something like Barista Style creamer -- same ingredients but it is somehow even better!

Mmmm...lychees. I'm gonna be on the lookout now. I love those little suckers. emoticon

Oh, that food looks fabulous! You're doing great! Those juices look so fresh.

Lychees... so addictive! Unfortunately, another one of those tropical fruits I'm allergic to. :(

Looks terrific!! I love the tonics!! I am looking for an alternate to my normal low-fat, skim milk addition to my coffee in the a.m. I doubt we will have coconut milk creamer where I live, but I 'll look!
