Disney 5K/Pay Day!

Tuesday, June 11, 2013

I'm so excited! I signed up for the Cinderella Royal Family 5K! Disney World, here I come! Woo hoo! It's Friday, February 21, 2014 at Epcot! I'm so psyched! I wasn't sure if I should or not. It's a big commitment financially. I discussed it with DH and we decided we could manage it. Yay! So, this will be my "happy thought" for the next 9 months. It's so much easier to feel happy when you are looking forward to something. And I absolutely LOVE Disney World!

Today, at lunch, I went walking after eating. It's the first time I've walked at work in a long time. I loved it. It was so nice to come home with my Fitbit reading over 5,000 steps for the day. I hope to make that a new daily habit.

When I was walking Mia back from the park today, it occurred to me that our daily walk to the park and back is REALLY becoming a habit now...It feels natural/expected/routine...and I REALLY like it!

All this fitness stuff is becoming a new addiction. Maybe addiction is not the right word to use...since that's a negative description. It's becoming a
t's better...passion. I like that!

This morning's weigh change... emoticon ...I was disappointed. I'm ready to see some progress on the scale. It's been about a week. I worked through my feelings on the way to work. Disappointment over no change on the do you handle that? I came up with an analogy that worked for me. Every day, I go to work and work for 8 hours...5 days a week...but I only get "paid" once every 2 weeks. But, I know that going to work every day is what makes the pay day happen and what makes the pay day maximized. Weight loss is the same...every day matters...every day works to provide what you will see on "pay day" on the scale. The only difference is pay day is not a set day of the week with weight loss. It happens when it happens. But we should not be discouraged on non-paydays...they're ALL paydays, when we are eating in range and working on our fitness. We feel better...we are better physically...we are in's so much better than going the other direction.

Hope you all had a GREAT Tuesday! I did! Keep up the good work! Thanks for the encouragement! Spark on! emoticon emoticon

I like your analogy. I recently read something else similar to that, and I never really thought of it that way before, but it makes sense, doesn't it? Good to remember when you get discouraged about the scale.
