Biking to work

Tuesday, June 11, 2013

I biked to work today, which made for a really warm, windy ride home. The ride TO work is downhill, in the cool of the morning. The ride HOME is uphill in heat and crosswinds. It felt good to push against the wind and up the hills. There are times when physical effort battles the anxiety of waiting and watching.

Got good news off facebook about my great niece's mom... they put a temporary pacemaker in and it has her heart beating at 80 beats a minute. That's a bit fast, but it's beating! Now there's still a whole lot I do NOT know about her condition and the whys and the whats. But I have to feel this is a hopeful sign.

So with that good news, and praising God for it, I shall toddle off to clean my teeth and head to bed. Love you all, my Spark friends. LIFE is good. Spark on!

Exercise -- fierce battle format -- helps. Uphill, into the wind: yeah! Hope that the good news continues . . .

Sounds like your great niece's mom is a fighter. She did catch a wicked illness.
I am keeping her in my prayers.

Update from today on Kelsey: The doctors are cautiously optimistic (my words) and expect recovery to be slow. Her heart is still very weak, but they were pleased that it was responding to the electrical stimulation.

Awesome, great job on your bike commute! Always better to have to work hard on the way home, that way you can hammer the end of the day away! Ride on!
