The Plan - Recitas Day 5 & 6

Tuesday, June 11, 2013

Oi, I am so happy on day 5 as the elimination factory opened its doors again. Jipeee! I am feeling a lot better, thank you.

Today I tested Rye. All must be good because my weight loss is .44 pounds. Still not a half a pound but getting closer.

The day was uneventful in the sense that I stuck to it all.

Day 6 I had this beautiful Lamb shoulder chop well within portion size that hubby BBQed but my weight dropped only by 100 gram or 0.22 pounds. Although I lost something it is not the pound that is the norm.

So what is the problem?

I am fighting a cold and I am now in the green stage. Sorry it is not pleasant but since these notes are to help me in future as a reference, I need to record it.

I am using the dandelion tea every day. I am drinking all the water but maybe I am drinking too much water as I see that the author is saying on her website that teas like mint and rooibos should be part of the total. I will need to make some adjustments.

I am NOT using the Manchego cheese as it is NZ$99 a kilo here in NZ. I simply cant afford that at present, so I just leave it out.

I am NOT using the other supplements that the author is prescribing.

I have NOT measured my temperature in the mornings to see if my thyroid is a problem. I dont own a thermometer and I wont be buying one soon. I am not too worried about this because I would not have lost more than 7 pounds after 3 days if that was the problem.

What is my delight? It is the fact that I am still losing weight, in miniscule ounces. Usually I would just gain and gain since I am NOT exercising (started today with 30 min on Elliptical very easy going).

I will carry on with THE PLAN and when I am over the cold I will do the cleansing again and retest the foods that I am uncertain about.

Today is day 7. So far I have lost 8.14 pounds in 6 days. Not bad in my book. I can live with it. I am more concerned about the foods that are not making me gain weight but also not allow me to lose as predicted.

When I started with the plan, any loss was a "pass" and I moved onto the next day's menu. Not getting the expensive cheese makes sense. I live in Mexico and a lot of the ingredients in her recipes aren't available here (no kale!), so I substituted or eliminated. In the end it's all about finding out what works for you and what doesn't.

Good for you continuing even with a cold! I know I can be doing everything "right", but not lose when I am sick, tired from not enough sleep, or stressed.

My library says my copy of The Plan, is ready for pick-up!

Keep at it!

Maggie, you lost over 8 pounds in 6 days. That is AMAZING! LG has posted information about slowed weight loss and/or stabilization. First & obvious explanation is that you're reactive to a food. But if you've been drinking too much water (and you have, if you haven't been including your tea), or if your sleep is impaired, or if you ate too late, you could gain or lose very little. It's also possible to be reactive to exercise - either the type or the amount. Another explanation is that your body is settling after such a dramatic loss. Finally, if you are within 5-10 pounds of your set weight, your weight loss will slow significantly, but that doesn't necessarily mean you're reactive. Go to LG's Facebook page and read the FAQs for more details. Also, don't do the cleanse more than once a month because it's taxing on the liver.
