# A QUESTION FOR ALL !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!????????????????????

### Tuesday, June 11, 2013

SO WHEN SPARK GIVES ME MY RANGE OF CALORIES TO EAT SAY 1900 FOR EXAMPLE. THEN I BURN 600 FOR EXAMPLE DO I SUBTRACT THE 600 FROM THE 1900 AND THAT WOULD LEAVE ME AT 1300 CALORIES FOR THE DAY OR DO I EAT 1900 CALORIES ASIDE FROM AND REGARDLESS IF I BURNED 600 CALORIES? SO I WOULD BASICALLY STICK TO 1900 CALORIES A DAY NO MATTER WHAT???? PLEASE HELP I THINK THIS IS WHERE I AM GOING WRONG. IF SPARK TELLS ME TO EAT 1900 . I EAT 1900 BUT THEN I BURN 600 TO 800 AND THEN I AM LEFT WITH 900-1000 CALORIES FOR THE DAY. DOES THAT MEAN I AM DOING IT WRONG??????? PLEASE HELP !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! YOU ARE ALL SO HELPFUL WITH YOUR ADVICE. I AM SO CONFUSED. I HAVE BEEN USING ONE OF THOSE WATCHES THE TAKES MY HEART RATE AND IT SAYS I AM BURNING 500-600 CALORIES ON MY WALKS. IS THAT ACCURATE. DO THESE THINGS REALLY TELL THE TRUTH???????????????????????

Leslee is right. Spark calculates your calorie range based on your weight goal and how much exercise you plan to do. So you don't have to worry about burning off 600 cals and being left with only 1000 for the day.

Heart rate watches are not very accurate unless they are the kind with the strap that goes around your chest to measure your heart rate. If it's just one that you wear around your wrist, I am guessing that is overestimating the # of calories you are burning on your walks.

Spark recommends your calorie instake, based on the amount of days you work out, and the amount of calories you burn each week. When exercising and burning lots of calories, its important to keep your body nourished so that it doesn't go into starvation mode and store everything you eat as fat. While working out, and eating enough calories, it will speed your metabolism.
In regards to how many calories your burning while you walk, I don't know. How long do you walk and how fast aprox 2mph/3mph???
