Eating Right and Healing a Foot

This is my theme of the summer. Last night, husband was massaging my bad foot like he does almost every night, because by the end of the day, it hurts to walk. And guess what...we noticed that my ankle is now a different color than the rest of the foot. Sigh...our flex spending is almost gone for the year, so it's up to me to do something about this. I'm working on getting some crutches so I can stay OFF of it. I can bike, and swim, and lift weights, but walking/standing is getting harder and harder. :/

In the meantime, my eating is back in line this week. It is the hardest part of losing weight for me; I just want to eat whatever I want, and unlimited amounts of it, and changing my life to eating just when I'm hungry, and a good balance of foods, takes a lot of concerted effort. But so far this week, I'm doing a lot better. I'm back to doing the grocery shopping so that helps. ;)

This morning I made a pasta salad with shrimp, asparagus, black olives, and green onions from our garden. I love being out of school because I finally have time to make something so amazing! I'm also going to make the Slow-cooker Salsa Chicken Spark recipe. I love that recipe, it's so easy and I like it. My kids are sick of it but I don't care, I want it today. I add a can of black beans and cooked brown rice to the mix and it's really good. :)

    I hope you get your ankle looked at in case it is a fracture. I remember when I was a teenager my dad stepped in a hole at a flea market and his ankle was hurting for days. He hopped up on his own x-ray table and x-rayed it. Sure enough, broken, sure enough didn't go to the doctor! You are way more active than my dad though. I hope you find a way to give your ankle some rest. You salad sounds awesome!
