Its all in my head...

I should be feeling much better than I am. I ended up with no workout last night. Sometime during the day I tweaked my lower back or upper hip or sciatic or something in my lower back right above the hip. So, I opted to skip the workout in the overall interest of having a pain vacation. Lol So I watched a very foggy baseball game and had a really bad night. I got hit with the munchies round about 9. And I caved. Overall there havenít been many of these days, but they are coming more frequently. I have a theory, it is all in my head.

It is all mental and I know this. I have been targeting right about 1900 calories for this whole time and Spark had my target around 2200 per day. I had been doing great. Then I decided to lower my goal weight. Now, my target approximately lines up with what I had been eating, and now I seem to run over it every day. And I am honestly tracking my food, and not eating anymore but since I am hitting the target, mentally I feel like I am not eating as much or something. It just seems like every time I eat, I am at my target.

Ugh, the mental side of this battle is all of it. It seems the physical side is not nearly as big a part as the mental. Since I dropped those 5 pounds quickly to get to the 250 mark, I am holding steady. Gain one lose one kind of deal. It could be that since I added the walking the workouts arenít as tough as they were and since I am not hitting the bike as often, my workouts arenít as intense and not burning as much. Now, that will change as I add jogging in to the routine, but there was a necessary change in intensity since I also have to build the body up to take the pounding. The good news is I have been doing the walking and been pain free. I have no doubt the tweaked back is due to the walking as well though.

But the biggest thing I noticed is no workout usually equals munching. I find it so much easier to curb the cravings with a trip to the gym. So, the back feels good today so the plan is to walk tonight while the kids are at tennis, then again tomorrow before I start driving. Hopefully the walk will loosen things up, but I will make sure to stretch when I am finished to get things loose again.

    I snack when I'm bored. My "I'm bored" snacks are rarely the healthy kind. So yeah, when I keep myself busy, or I know I'll be walking at lunch or riding my bike home, I'm much less likely to eat a snack I regret later.
