Actually this is the latest beginning, if that makes any sense. Started this journey over 6 years ago, with my highest weight of 353 lbs, just after my mom passed away. She spent her entire adult life overweight and died at 60 from heart and various other weight related issues. She struggled for years with her mental and physical health and I watched her suffer. I don't want that for my kids. So I lost 40 lbs over the next couple years and have managed to keep that off. Then I tried to learn all I could about weight loss and for 3 years went to classes, met with nutritionist, etc, to learn. I did and also decided to have a gastric sleeve surgery, where my stomach was made smaller. I started at 310 lbs pre-surgery and was 278 lbs at my lowest. But to much of my own sabotage and lack of dealing with emotional issues, I slowly gained the weight back to where I am today at 311 lbs. Hitting that mark gave me a wake up call, and I started tracking again and I'm determined to lose the weight, this time by continuing to learn and write about how I feel. So for today, I wanted to share the beginning of my journey.
